Definition
What is iGaming link building?
iGaming link building is the work of earning links to a gambling site — casino, sportsbook, poker room, affiliate or supplier — from publishers that gambling audiences already read, so those pages rank in a vertical where almost nobody links to you voluntarily. An agency finds the publishers, writes the content, places the link inside a real article and reports every one back to you. That is the whole service.
It is its own discipline for one reason: the supply. Most publishers refuse gambling content outright. The ones that accept it charge several times the going rate, sell to your competitors on the same sheet, and drop outbound links the moment they tidy up. A general SEO agency with a strong SaaS network cannot point it at a casino brand. It is a different list, a different price and a different conversation.
iGaming Link Builders works in gambling and nothing else. We already know which sites accept the content, which have real readers in the markets you take players from, and which will still be linking to you a year from now. You get the shortlist on day one instead of month twelve.
The vertical inside the vertical matters too. A sportsbook, an online casino and an affiliate comparison site need three different publisher universes, three different anchor mixes and three different target-page maps. We build the list for the one you are in, not a generic gambling list rented out to everybody.
You see every publisher before we pitch it and cross out any name you don’t want. Every link sits inside the body of a real article, on a site with real traffic from the countries you sell in, with an anchor that reads as earned. We write the content, secure the placement, confirm it is live and indexed, and send you a full ledger with every order. If a link dies or falls out of the index inside twelve months, we replace it free.
The result is a link profile that looks earned, because it is. Rankings that hold through the next algorithm update. And a ledger you can hand to your CEO without explaining anything away.
Order a package and your publisher list lands within two working days. Nothing is pitched until you have signed it off.

The uncomfortable part
Why most iGaming link building stops working
If you have bought gambling links before, you have probably bought at least one of these. Here is what changed underneath them.
One inventory sheet, sold to the whole vertical
Most gambling link vendors resell the same few hundred domains. Your profile ends up as a subset of the competitor you hired someone to overtake, which moves nothing and is trivially obvious in any link-gap tool.
We de-dup every prospect list against the referring domains of the sites currently outranking you, so an order adds reach rather than reproducing somebody else’s.
The host’s authority is now a liability, not the product
Google’s site reputation abuse policy targets exactly the mechanism the gambling guest-post market runs on: third-party content published on a host “mainly because of that host’s already-established ranking signals.”Source
A casino article on a DR 70 lifestyle blog with no gambling readership isn’t a strong link. It’s a documented pattern with a name, and it has been enforced with manual actions since 2024.
One gambling strategy stretched across four verticals
Sportsbook, casino, poker and affiliate look like one industry from the outside. They share almost no publishers, no seasonality and no anchor logic. A betting campaign run on a casino prospect list wastes most of the budget.
We build the list for your vertical and your target pages, and we will tell you when two of your own brands should not share one.
The version that holds is simple: a real publisher, real readers in your market, content that belongs there, and a link inside the body of the piece. That sentence is our entire service model.
Boundaries
iGaming link building tactics we will not use
Most agency pages put this last, if they include it at all. It is the fastest way to work out whether we are a fit, so it goes here.
- Build or rent private blog networks
- Sell you footer, sidebar or “sponsored post” box placements
- Run automated mass outreach with fabricated personalisation
- Place gambling content on sites with no gambling audience, for the DR
- Guarantee rankings, traffic, snippets or AI citations
- Report a link as live without loading the URL ourselves
- Place two clients competing in one market on the same page
- Hide the publisher list from you until the links are already live
Standards
9 checks every iGaming link publisher clears before we pitch it
You get this scorecard for every prospect, before outreach starts. A site has to clear all nine. Most don’t.
- Topical fit is genuineThe site already covers gambling, betting, gaming, sport or adjacent finance as first-party editorial — not a “categories” page bolted on last quarter.
- Traffic is real and stableOrganic trend over 24 months, checked for the sudden spikes that signal a rebuilt expired domain.
- Traffic matches your marketsA DR 60 site with 90% of its readers in a country you can’t take players from is worthless. Country split is a hard filter, not a tie-breaker.
- Rankings, not just referring domainsThe domain ranks top 20 for keywords a human would actually search. Authority metrics without rankings are a number, not an asset.
- Outbound link profile is saneWe count paid-looking outbound links per post and the ratio of gambling to non-gambling anchors sitewide.
- Editorial oversight is demonstrableEditorial standards, a corrections policy, a named contact. If nobody is accountable for what gets published, nothing protects your link.
- No site reputation patternWe check whether the gambling section is siloed off from the site’s real topic — the structure the site reputation abuse policy describes.
- Not already in your profileCross-checked against your existing referring domains and, where you allow it, against the competitors ranking above you.
- Indexation confirmed post-placementWe re-check the live URL at 14 and 90 days. Deindexed or removed inside 12 months gets replaced at no cost.
Automatic rejections
- Private blog networks and any footprint-shared network
- Expired domains rebuilt to host gambling content
- Sitewide footer, sidebar and blogroll links
- Casino and betting “link farm” directories and listing dumps
- 301 redirect chains from unrelated expired properties
- Sites that will publish literally anything for a fee
- Anything requiring hacked or CMS-exploit placement
What clears review
- Established gambling affiliate portals with real reader traffic
- Poker, betting and casino community sites and forums
- iGaming trade press and B2B industry media
- Regional news covering local gambling regulation and venues
- Sports media with real betting sections and named writers
- Finance, fintech and payments publications for crypto-facing brands
- Universities, regulators and RG charities, for genuine data citations
Verticals
How casino, sportsbook, poker and crypto verticals change the publisher list
Gambling is not one audience. Each of these runs on a different publisher pool, a different anchor mix and a different set of target pages.
| Vertical | What changes about the campaign |
|---|---|
| Online casino and slots | The most competitive pool and the most scrutinised. Game-provider, bonus and payment-method pages carry the long tail while brand anchors carry the homepage. Casino link building is the core service. |
| Sportsbook and betting | A calendar-driven vertical. Odds portals, tipster sites, fantasy communities and regional team coverage, with briefs that have to land weeks before a season or tournament. See sports betting links. |
| Poker | Small, old and community-led. Forums and strategy sites with decades of archives, where a placement earns nothing unless the writing survives contact with people who play seriously. |
| Bingo, lottery and sweepstakes | Softer publisher pool, often regional and lifestyle-adjacent, and far easier to over-optimise. Anchor caps matter more here than anywhere else. |
| Crypto and Bitcoin casinos | A second publisher universe most gambling agencies never touch: crypto, payments and fintech media alongside gambling sites. See crypto casino link building. |
| Affiliates and comparison sites | You compete with the brands you list and with the publishers you would otherwise pitch. Prospecting has to route around your own monetisation. See affiliate link building. |
| iGaming B2B and suppliers | Platform providers, aggregators, payments and compliance vendors. Trade press, conference media and analyst coverage rather than player-facing sites, and the buying audience is a few thousand people. |
The model
How our gambling links actually get built
Format is the last decision, not the first. What decides whether a link holds is the host. A niche edit on a real gambling publication beats a guest post on a DR 70 site that has never covered gambling, every time.
- CoreiGaming guest postingContributed articles on sites with real gambling readerships — affiliate portals, poker and betting communities, trade media, regional press. 800–1,200 words, written by people who know wagering requirements from RTP.
- CoreGambling niche editsPlacement inside articles that already exist, already rank and already have readers. Faster than a guest post and cleaner in your profile, because the page has organic history rather than a publication date three days after the invoice.
- EarnediGaming digital PROriginal data only you can produce — anonymised wagering trends, regional payout patterns, odds movement — pitched to gambling trade press, finance desks and regional news. Slowest to produce, highest ceiling, entirely unpaid.
- SupportingCasino contentLinkable assets hosted on your domain: licence trackers by jurisdiction, RTP databases, bonus wagering calculators, state-by-state legality maps. Built once, cited for years.
- VerticalCasino link buildingThe full campaign for operators and casino brands: target-page mapping, anchor plan, mixed formats, and a prospect list built around the markets you hold players in.
- VerticalSports betting linksA different publisher universe with different rules. If you run both verticals, the campaigns share strategy but never share a prospect list.
- VerticalAffiliate link buildingBuilt for money pages: reviews, comparisons and bonus guides, placed on publishers that don’t compete with your own tables.
- VerticalCrypto casino link buildingGambling, crypto and payments media for Bitcoin-facing brands, with a canonical domain check before a single pitch goes out.
- AdjacentAI visibilityWhat ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Gemini currently say about your brand, plus the entity and placement work that changes it. Tracked monthly, never guaranteed.
- PartnersWhite label for agenciesEverything above delivered unbranded in your template, priced on your total book rather than per client. We never contact your client.
- IncludedReclamation and brand mentionsYour brand gets named in reviews, forum threads and press without a link constantly. We find those mentions and convert them — the cheapest referring domains you will ever add.
- DirectBuy casino backlinksIf you already know what you want and just need placements at a published price, the risks and the buyer’s checklist are set out in full on that page.
Controls
Anchor text for iGaming and gambling links
Most vendors won’t show you this. It’s the part of a campaign that quietly decides whether your profile reads as earned or bought.
| Anchor type | Target share | Example | Why the cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Branded | 45–55% | Your Brand, Your Brand Casino | Real coverage names the brand. A profile without this majority reads as manufactured. |
| Naked URL | 10–15% | yourbrand.com | What journalists and forum users actually paste. |
| Generic | 10–15% | here, this site, read more | Ubiquitous in genuine editorial. Conspicuously absent in bought profiles. |
| Partial match | 12–18% | Your Brand live dealer games | Carries relevance without the exact-match signature. |
| Exact match | 2–5% | best online casino, best betting sites | The one that gets profiles flagged. Deployed only on the strongest, most relevant placements. |
| Image / alt | 3–6% | Logo and asset citations | Comes free with data-led PR and confirms the coverage is real. |
Markets
How your market decides which gambling publishers to pitch
Regulated, grey or somewhere in between, we work across all of them. What changes is the filter, not the standard.
| Market | What changes about placement |
|---|---|
| United Kingdom | The most scrutinised market we work in. For GB licensees, publisher behaviour is filtered to fit licence conditions; for affiliates, the fight is for review and comparison intent on publishers with real UK readers. |
| Germany, Austria, Switzerland | Advertising restrictions are tighter than most operators expect and enforcement differs across the three. We filter to publishers whose audience sits inside your permitted markets. |
| Nordics | Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland each run a different model. Geographic traffic split becomes a hard filter — a pan-Nordic placement is wasted in the one country you can’t serve. |
| Canada and Ontario | Ontario is regulated separately, with strict advertising and inducement rules, and operators are held responsible for their affiliates’ marketing. Prospect lists are split rather than treated as one national market. |
| LatAm | Newly or partially regulated, so the publisher universe is still forming. That favours digital PR and original data over a thin guest-post supply — a real early-mover advantage while it lasts. |
| Asia | Legality varies enormously by country and traffic quality varies more. We reject a higher share of prospects here than anywhere else, and we will tell you when a market can’t be served well. |
| Grey and unregulated markets | No licence, no problem — the filters change, they don’t disappear. Audience geography, real traffic and topical fit still decide every placement, and the publisher pool is often wider. |

Payment is upfront on order. You approve the publisher list before outreach, and any placement we cannot fill with a site that passes the 9 checks is refunded in full. Questions
iGaming link building FAQ
The questions operators, affiliates and agencies ask before they book a call. Anything not covered here, ask on the call.
How much do iGaming link building services cost?
Our pricing is $3,500 for 10 placements on DR 30+ gambling publishers ($350 a link) and $5,000 for 10 placements on DR 50+ gambling publishers ($500 a link). Both include the content, the publisher list to approve before outreach, and a 12-month replacement guarantee. Multi-market campaigns, digital PR and white-label work are quoted as a custom plan. Gambling links cost more than general SEO links for one reason: few publishers accept the content, so the ones that do can charge for it.
How is iGaming link building different from normal link building?
The supply, the price and the scrutiny. Most publishers refuse gambling content outright, so the addressable list is a fraction of what it is in SaaS or ecommerce, and prices run several times higher. On top of that, gambling is one of the verticals Google looks at hardest, so the patterns a general agency gets away with elsewhere — sitewide links, DR-first placement, thin guest posts on unrelated hosts — are exactly the ones that cost you here. The work is the same shape. The publisher network and the tolerance for shortcuts are not.
Do you work with operators, affiliates and suppliers?
All three, and the strategies diverge more than most agencies admit. Operators need brand-anchored coverage and links that support conversion pages. Affiliates compete on review and comparison intent, need topical authority across many operator names, and can pitch publishers that won’t take an operator link directly. B2B suppliers sell to a few thousand people and live in trade press rather than player-facing media. Same 9-point vetting standard, three different prospect universes.
How long before we see ranking movement?
Expect your links live inside 10 to 14 days of approving the publisher list, and the first meaningful ranking movement between months three and six. Links need to be crawled, and the target page needs enough existing relevance to move at all. Gambling is a competitive, heavily scrutinised vertical where gains compound slowly. Anyone promising results in weeks is either selling links already sitting on a marketplace or describing a keyword nobody searches.
Is buying links for a gambling site safe?
Safe is the wrong frame — defensible is the right one. Every placement clears a 9-point publisher standard covering topical fit, real traffic and demonstrable editorial oversight, sits inside the article body, and carries an anchor that reads as earned. We never use PBNs, sitewide placements or expired-domain rebuilds, and the anchor mix is capped so the profile doesn’t read as bought. If a placement dies or falls out of the index inside twelve months, we replace it at no cost.
How many backlinks does a gambling site need to rank?
There is no universal number, and the honest answer is a method rather than a figure. Take the three sites currently in the top five for your target keyword in your target country, pull their referring-domain counts, strip out the domains with no gambling or adjacent relevance, and treat the remaining gap as your working target. In competitive markets like UK slots that gap often runs to several hundred relevant referring domains. In a newly regulated market it can be under fifty.
Guest posts or niche edits: which works better?
Neither on its own, and the format matters far less than the host. A niche edit on a gambling publication with real readers outperforms a guest post on a DR 70 site that has never covered gambling, because the second one is the pattern the site reputation abuse policy describes. In practice, niche edits are faster and inherit the page’s existing ranking history, while guest posts give you control over the copy and the anchor. Most orders mix both, weighted to the pages you want to move.
Do you write the content?
Yes, all of it, 800 to 1,200 words per placement. Writers who understand wagering requirements, RTP, odds formats and licence conditions, because publishers in this vertical reject generic gambling content faster than they reject the pitch. Content length is where a lot of vendors quietly cut cost — a 500-word filler post is cheaper to place and easier for a publisher to bury.
Will you show us the publisher list before outreach starts?
Yes. Within two working days of your order you see the prospect list with metrics and 9-point scores, and you can strike any domain from it before a single pitch goes out. A vendor who won’t show you where your links will come from until they are live is protecting inventory quality, not trade secrets.
What happens if a link gets removed or deindexed?
We re-check every placement at 14 days, again at 90 days, then quarterly. Any link that goes dead or falls out of the index within 12 months of placement is replaced at no additional cost, and the replacement is logged against the original so your ledger reconciles. That guarantee is only affordable because of the vetting — sites that clear the 9 checks rarely disappear.
Which markets and languages can you build links in?
The UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the Nordics, Canada including Ontario, LatAm and parts of Asia, plus grey and newly regulated markets on request. Content is written in the publisher’s language by writers who work in it. For each market we filter prospects by audience geography and publisher quality, and where you hold a licence, by whether the publisher fits its conditions. If we can’t serve a market well, we say so rather than filling a quota.
Do you work in grey and unregulated markets?
Yes. A licence is not a condition of working with us. What changes is the filter set, not the standard: audience geography, real traffic, topical fit and editorial oversight still decide every placement. In grey markets the publisher pool is often wider because publishers face fewer restrictions, which usually means more supply at a better rate rather than a lower bar.
Do backlinks affect visibility in AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity?
Indirectly, and nobody should tell you otherwise with confidence. AI answer engines draw heavily on pages that already rank and on sources they can attribute, so links that improve organic visibility tend to improve the odds of being retrieved. What appears to matter more is being named in places these systems already trust: original data, expert commentary and coverage in publications with real editorial reputations. That is why our model leans on digital PR and named-source placement rather than volume. We don’t promise AI citations, and neither should anyone else.
Do you offer white label iGaming link building for agencies?
Yes. Prospect sheets, anchor plans and placement ledgers ship unbranded in your template, and we never contact your client. Reseller pricing is set on your total placements across your whole book rather than per client, so the margin is yours rather than a markup on a retail rate. The full arrangement is set out on our white label page.
Do you have case studies?
Yes. Case studies are published with client permission as each campaign clears its reporting window, and we can walk you through a live placement ledger on a call. Named client results in this vertical often sit under NDA, which is why we would rather show you the publisher list and the ledger than a percentage you cannot verify.
How does payment work?
Payment is upfront when you order. Within two working days you get the publisher list to approve, and nothing is pitched until you have signed it off. If we cannot fill a placement with a site that passes the 9 checks, that placement is refunded in full.
